With Christmas coming I had to share some children's books that I adore, they deserve a place in your home as well.
The books by Munro Leaf are my most favorite books, Ocean loves them.
The illustrations are cute, simple and quirky and his writing style is wonderful.
I love the way he conveys his message in a fun and goofy way without being dumb.
We have 5 of his books, only 4 of which are pictured here. I found the first one at a thrift store and it sent me on a treasure hunt trying to find more, online and at bookstores.
They really are the best books, scroll through the photos a bit and you will fall in love.
How to Speak Politely and Why by Munro Leaf
Manners can be fun by Munro Leaf
(my favorite part of the book, Ocean loves this part as well and will call us out when we are being "Whineys" or "Piggies")
How to Behave and Why by Munro Leaf
I loved this. Four basic rules- be honest, fair, strong and wise.
He goes into depth and explains what each of those traits mean.
Ocean and I repeat this to each other a lot throughout our day.
Reading can be Fun by Munro Leaf
See what I mean? I love these books!
The books below are a few other favorites...
You are to me by Rebecca Doughty
A sort of poetry, this book makes me think of a Weepies song.
and of course...
The Lorax by Dr Seuss, quite possibly the best book on environmentalism out there.
What is God? Since we aren't religious but have many family members and friends who are we wanted to get a book that explains different beliefs and thoughts about God as a being, idea or person without any biases, this one does just that.

We have Brushing your teeth can be fun, but I don't actually like it because there is a big emphasis on drinking milk in order to be healthy. I don't believe that so it is hard to read something I don't agree with.
ReplyDeleteOMG Bekah I am literally going to buy every one of these books. I freakin love you. You have the best assortments of books! xoxox
ReplyDeleteOne of our favorites is We are in a Book by Mo Willems. It is so funny. My husband can't get through it without laughing his head off, even after reading it for the fifteenth time! This is a wonderful post.
