where I am right now.

So excited about all the goodness happening here and there. I have been really busy and I feel I have neglected the more personal posts lately because of that reason but I am bringing them back! I have several blog posts I am working on that are touching on some very personal subjects for me and that I feel pretty strongly about. A couple addressing this season of my life, how I have grown and where I would like to be next year. A post on slut-shaming and the words we use. A post on weight and beauty. Oh and I have that headwrap post coming along as well! (I know I keep saying that!) Also, I have finally gone back over a few previous posts and am answering questions you all asked from everything like "What kind of deodorant do you use?" to "What happened in NYC!?" Trust me, it has been a blur for me as I am sure it was for you. haha

I really do try hard and get back to each of you, but something I am learning is that after awhile it really is impossible to respond to everyone. But I promise I am going to try!

I have been contemplating over the past couple of months several directions I want this blog to go, I am trying to get back to my roots and post about things that I feel strongly about but also incorporate more fun things. I am not a d.i.y blog kinda girl, nor am I much of a chef. In fact, Marc does most of the cooking in this house. I am learning to accept these things and stop trying to be the do-it-all supermom.

So, that being said, expect more personal thoughts from me, thoughts on discipline, more pictures of food Marc cooked, thoughts regarding simplicity and how to achieve it, photos I find inspiring, pictures of my family and more of my thoughts on frugalness. Oh and there is a lot happening over the next few weeks, so lots of picture and stories.

Something you will see less of?
-most things political, when I started this blog I was a very passionate democrat but I am not very impressed with politics anymore as I feel that they are all the same. ( However, I still vote democrat!)
-less rants on religion, I personally am not religious and I find bigoted people repulsive but its such a complicated subject and its too easy to put people in a box regarding their beliefs so I will leave that subject alone.
- less "Im going to do..." posts...kinda like this one, except where I claim I am going to start a feature I know I won't keep up. haha

I really want to take the time to thank all of you for reading, I am loving watching this blog grow.
I appreciate any feedback and as I stated above I will always try and get back but I won't promise I will be able to!I am trying to get my priorities in my life back in order, everything has been so crazy and order has gone out the door. I think we lost it at our yard sale. ;)

So bear with me, I am really streamlining this blog. I want it simple and true to who I am.
Oh and yes, I do enjoy doing outfit posts and I am trying to bring them back!

xoxo

  1. This sounds like me the last couple weeks. I have discovered for myself that it's a really bad idea to post about features I'm going to do because, well, I haven't followed through with any of them LOL. Glad another mama is having a blogolution too.

  2. You're doing awesome, Bekah :-) It's always a pleasure to pop by your blog and see what's on your mind! I've taken an almost complete break from my blog lately because it's really hard to know what direction to move in sometimes, isn't it? But keep being yourself, it's beautiful :-)

  4. i totally get it.
Sometimes we need to take a step back and remember who we are, and what we need to focus on.
As a woman, I think we feel tons of pressure to be perfect.
Do what you need to do, and focus on making you and your families life happy. perfect or not, just happy!

  8. Oh I am so happy! I love the sound of that, because that's why I read blogs; to connect with other human beings who are real and imperfect but share a lot of the same beliefs as me. And of course, to learn a few things along the way. "Fluff-blogs" are great and all, but I think women, especially mothers, need to know that we really are all in the same boat, we don't all have our hair/makeup/nails/outfits/house/decor etc perfectly perfect every single moment.
Anyway!! I'm getting off on a tangent, I really am excited to read what you have to write! <3<3

  11. It's so easy to get caught up in what everyone else is doing. We all find ourselves straying from our own path sometimes. But it's just as easy to get back on your own path. Sometimes its good to frolic off and smell all the flowers and chase aimless arrows off into the distance. As long as we stay true to ourselves, we can always find our way back home. xo

  15. your blog is one of my faves. i love your calming nature and down to earth-ness. i don't think you need to change a thing, but i think reevaluating and fine-tuning your message is a great idea! i've been doing the same. :) just stay true to you. i would love to meet you in person one day. ps. do people really ask you what deodorant you use??
