d r i n k: simple homemade blueberry, coconut soda

Guys, this recipe is so easy and so good. I created it on a whim last night when I was trying to figure out how to use all the blueberries we picked over the weekend.
 You need:
- one cup of sugar
- one cup of water
- 2 cups of blueberries
- coconut sparkling water ( I used La Croix)
Directions:
Make a simple syrup first by boiling one cup of water and then adding the sugar, still till dissolved and then add the blueberries. Boil for a bit longer (3-5 minutes) and then turn low and allow to simmer for 10 minutes. Take off the eye and strain over a glass jar. (I would place the jar on a plate or something to catch the run off since this will stain) Once you have the syrup in the jar, allow it to cool. Fill a glass with ice and then fill the glass with ice and then 1/4 or so of the syrup. Pour coconut sparkling water over the top. Enjoy!

  3. Hi, I just found your blog couple of days ago and wanted to tell you that I adore it. You've been such an inspiration to me already and I've learnt some new things while I've been reading this blog. I'm a soon 22-year-old Finnish girl currently au pairing in Netherlands to help out my bf's parents (erm, my bf has siblings that are significantly younger than him, just to be clear haha) and the youngest kids (6 and 10) are actually going to a steiner school (ressembles montessoori in a few ways i think). I moved out from finland couple of years ago to follow my bf (whos english) to start uni in england, im really interested in all things natural and organic, going back to our roots, and one day we're gonna have our little farm of some sort (already learnt horseback riding here in holland, yay).

I also read that you want to learn French and I just wanted to share this song with you (maybe you know it already?): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CdTgX2ruNgA it's such a soulful and pretty song, even better once you understand the lyrics :) it's so very french hahah... i highly recommend you realize your dream one day and go there, ive lived there 1,5years of my life and it was absolutely brilliant. french ppl are really laid back and fun loving, they may have some road rage but they also have epic dinners and the country is just oh-so-picturesque... and learning the language is totally worth it, its such a big part of the culture; the french and their "oooh putaaaain" and "bref" and "n'importe quoi" and what not hahah.

The south of USA looks really beautiful, I've never been there. It actually looks like a nice place to live (though I'm not a big fan of the politics, but tbh the UK isn't much better... oh and also it seems so religious hahah - in finland most people are just religious by tradition, only few of them actually go to church or engage in other religious activities. i was raised atheist apart from little buddhist influence from my dad). I'd love to see more of the US one day though, I've only been to NYC so far (loved it).

anyway, thanks for blogging, you are awesome! this is my new favourite blog.
