links to love. (+a review)

Tiffany from In a Pretty Box sent me this months box to review. What is In a Pretty Box? In a Pretty Box is a monthly gift box full of surprises and may include jewelry, bath products, fashion accessories, gadgets, stationary, paper goods, and more! Each month we put together a beautiful box with at least 2-3 products created by amazing handmade artists. We’ll also include our Featured Artists card with information about the makers featured and their stories. Handmade is all about getting personal with your product, and we want that to shine through.
 This months surprises included:
This notebook is by Two Hand Design. The cover was printed on recycled chip board and it is the perfect size for your purse.
This calendar is printed by In the Clear. It is a small calendar and it would look neat hung on the wall in a pattern of sorts.
This honey lip butter by Love you Body and it was my favorite thing included this month! It smells so good, just like honey, and it doesn't dry out or rub off quickly, it absorbs and softens your lips. Marc and I both love it. And I gotta stress again, how good it smells, when I put it on it is like a perfume almost. I smell like honey. I hope future boxes will include things from Love your Body's shop. They use all-natural, high quality ingredients and upcycled packaging as much as they can. (You can feel good supporting them!)

This soft peanut brittle from Ambrosia Candies. It was a lot of fun to try. I always see a lot of candies on Etsy, but am hesitant to try them.

Overall, I love the concept:
- love that they are made up of handcrafted items from small businesses
- you can subscribe to a monthly plan that cost $25/month or you can gift it to someone once. They also have a plan that is $50/month that includes items that are a little more expensive.

So, if you are looking for a treat or a gift,  In a Pretty Box is a great option to consider.
Maybe for Valentines? Thanks so much, again, to Tiffany from  In a Pretty Box for letting me test it out!

I have never been so convicted. If you are a parent with a smartphone (or a blog!) read this: How to Miss a Childhood.

These tattoos look like they were stamped on. Abstract and very artistic.

"Maybe the most common issue people have with personal development is that it stays a daydream. That they get excited and inspired. But then as those positive emotions fade nothing really happens." Some steps for getting past that.

Smart Gardener combines your selected plants, garden layout, and household size with complex planting variables, to create a Smart Garden Plan just for you.

We are getting so creative over here! We have been meaning to get a workspace going so we are building a desk like these this week and it will go in our room under the window. So excited!

I'll leave you with some photos and words I found inspiring.
Happy Wednesday!

  2. i really loved 'how to miss a childhood.' my husband and i have often talked about how much it bums us out that our kids will never know a life without the internet and media available at all times. i refuse to get a smartphone, because i just don't feel like i need to have the internet or other social media on call 24/7. it makes me so sad when we go out in public and i see children being 'entertained' by their parents phones, or the children left to their own devices while the parents text away on their phones without even looking up.

i'm not saying i'm perfect, because i am so far from it. but i think i am pretty good at not letting technology get the best of my life. i've often said that i should have been born in a different time. i just don't feel like we need to know everything about everyone right the very second that it happens. no one is that important, although at times we seem to think we are.
